Puritans Of Prey

“Puritans Of Prey” is a physically interpretive exploration concerning the concepts of Predator vs. Prey and Birds of Prey through the lens of the Salem Witch Trials. Heavily inspired by Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, “Puritans Of Prey” seeks to stimulate audiences by exploring idealisms of pack mentality, peer pressure, status, and the hysteria ensued when women are pitted against other women for means of survival in a world dictated by men.

“Puritans Of Prey” was created for Kent State University School of Theatre and Dance's 2024 B.F.A. Senior Dance Concert & Student Dance Festival: REIGNITE. It was then invited to be produced as a part of the main stage series in the 2024 Kent Dance Ensemble Concert: On The Cusp. The piece was then further commissioned and presented in Thailand in January of 2025 as a part of a collaborative performance festival attended by “East Meets West” - Kent State University’s international study abroad dance program. “Puritans Of Prey” is furthermore projected to be presented at the American College Dance Association’s East-Central Conference in March of 2025, as well as at the OhioDance Festival in April of the same year.
